ORDERING YOUR PRESCRIPTION

1. Your repeat prescriptions should be ordered on the dedicated 24 hour line on (028) 9448 1745.

Prescriptions may be collected

personally at reception or sent to the Pharmacy of your choice.

If you would wish to collect your prescriptions from a pharmacy of

your choice tell the receptionist and all your prescriptions will be sent to that pharmacy.

Please remember our telephone lines are very busy!  

48 hours notice must be given for ALL repeat prescriptions.

Acute Prescriptions

If you need to order an acute, (one off prescription), ring reception and

press option "3" between 9:30am - 11:30am & 2:30pm - 5pm daily.

If you order an acute prescription before 11am it will be ready for

collection at your chosen pharmacy after 5pm.

If you order an acute prescription after 2pm the prescription will be

ready for collection at the pharmacy the following day.

Please note: surgery can run late and it is not always possible to

       have acute prescriptions ready by 6pm - but we will do                                                 our best!                    

The doctor will decide if a minor ailment requires a prescription.

In some cases advice may be given or you may be asked to attend surgery.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
